In continuation of Sir Cecil Clementi's
secret despatch of 4th May, 1926, on the subject
of the Chinese Telegraph Office in Hong Kong, and
with reference to the proposal in my telegram of
(42\16th June, 1928, approved by you in your telegram
(45)
of 22nd June, 1928, to accept the substitution of
an approved Canton nominee for the Superintendent
of the Chinese Telegraph Office in Hong Kong then
holding office, I have the honour to enclose for
your information a copy of my letter of 27th June,
1928, to the Consul-General, Canton, on the
subject.

The Canton Government instructed Mr. Kong Siu Lou, (1), (Chiang Hsiao Lu) to take
up his post as Superintendent of the Chinese
Telegraph Office, Hong Kong, and Mr. Kong duly
reported his arrival on June 29th.
